UGANDA is campaigning for a council seat in the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) for the African region. The Ugandan delegation is part of an ITU conference that opened in Mexico on Monday.

The Ugandan delegation is part of an ITU conference that opened in Mexico on Monday.

Uganda last served on the ITU council from 2002 to 2006. Twenty African countries are contesting for the 13 seats for the region, according to a statement by Isaac Kalembe, the public relations officer at the Uganda Communications Commission.
