MBARARA High Court has dismissed a case in which Naome Kabasharira, the Ntungamo district NRM Woman MP flag-bearer, was dragged to court for lack of a Primary Seven certificate.

Kabasharira defeated the incumbent Ntungamo Woman MP, Beatrice Rwakimari, to become the NRM flag-bearer with over 50,000 votes.

Court presided over by the resident judge, Dr. Adrew Bashaija, dismissed the case with costs on Wednesday, on the grounds that the complainants lacked evidence. The complainants were absent at the time of the ruling.

Kabasharira insisted that the complainants wasted her time and had to pay the costs.

“I thank God that this case has been dismissed because these people didn’t have evidence. I have my certificate, and even UNEB has a copy,” she said.

Kabasharira represented Ntungamo district as the Woman MP in the sixth Parliament, but was denied another term due to lack of an A’ level certificate.
