Dear Editor, We join organisations as educated and mature people, but management insists on controlling us. What is the logic in managing employees? One would think they can work without so much fuss from managers.

YOU are absolutely right to wonder how mature people should be managed at work. It is worth noting that under any proper working system there is a hierarchy of roles.

This ensures that work flows in a proper and consistent direction.
Besides, an employees’ ability to start a project and get the desired goal, involves a combination of factors.

Anything to do with productivity, employee satisfaction, salaries, career success, customer satisfaction and company profits can only be attained through supervisory intervention. This keeps employees on track and make them more productive.
