A 26-year-woman accused of stealing sh11m from a Rwandese businessman has been arrested.

A 26-year-woman accused of stealing sh11m from a Rwandese businessman has been arrested.

Juliet Baliddawa, based at Arua Park in Kampala, was arrested last week after a few days on the run, according to the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Ibin Ssenkumbi.

Ssenkumbi said on December 3, a businessman identified as John Ddamuli, went to Baliddawa’s shop to purchase maize. Baliddawa reportedly convinced him that she would provide all the maize he needed.

Ddamuli is said to have paid sh11m and left to bring vehicles to carry the maize. “When Ddamuli returned, the shop was closed and Baliddawa could not be traced.
