EXPRESS cruised into the maiden quarter-finals with another nerve cracking win over winless Rayon Sport of Rwanda last evening in the East and Central Club Championships at Nakivubo Stadium.
Andrew Mukasa put Express ahead only after 12 minutes of play after Rayon’s flashy keeper Muyambo Muhima spilled the ball off a long ranger from Peter Lwebuga. Abdulaziz Hunter levelled matters when keeper Abdul Salim failed to stop his shot.
Eight minutes into the second half, the home side sealed their ticket to the quarterfinals. Hassan Mubiru, who was playing three days after falling sick, combined well with Baby Matiyabo, who in turn helped Mukasa complete his brace.
The win left Express with a clean sheet in Group C.
In the other game, Saint George collected maximum points after thrashing Elman.
Meanwhile, charges for today’s ties in Namboole stadium have been reduced to sh 4,000 and sh10,000
