The last time a street jam was organised in Kampala, a wannabe school-girl caused a fracas by exposing her buttocks. Before we forget that, there will be another show, the only difference being the absence of teenagers who don’t know how to wear knickers.

For the first time, the Old Port bell Road will be closed as city dwellers are entertained. Patrons will part with sh5,000 and will be allowed to enter Club Obligatto. The club’s in-house band (and definitely Uganda’s leading band) Afrigo will join the masses in the middle of the road.

Expect nothing but real music from singer Joanita Kawalya, popular drummer Omwana we Nsenene Ssewanyana and band-leader and saxophonist Moses Matovu.

The show, dubbed ‘Street Jam Special,’ will feature other stars like Kato Lubwama and his Diamond group as well as Eagles Productions with Ronald Mayinja and Fred Maiso. Urban crowd favourite Jose Chameleon and many other brilliant young stars will also be there.

Ragga Dee and feisty Bobi Wine will do what has brought them fame. Emperor Orlando will get back on stage after a long absence with Nenkonkona, a song that is steadily picking up on the FM radio waves. For the street jam lover your are, gates open at 7:00pm and they will only close about twelve hours later.
