Somani dead
ONE of golf’s pillars Shamsher Somani died on Saturday and will be buried at the Ismaili cemetery at Lugogo today. Somani, a business tycoon born in Kabale, supported a number of golf activities around the country. The events included the Somani Open, a Uganda Golf Union (UGU) event held in Kabale. The Open is held annually.

Aringa wins
Aringa school beat Yumbe secondary school F.C 2-0 in the finals of Yumbe district post primary schools tournament, played at Yumbe Boma ground. Zuberi Maliamungu and Mahamud Brahan goals carried Aringa to victory. Goals came after 20 and 58 minutes.

Mukula offer
HON. Mike Mukula, MP Soroti Municipality and state minister for health has donated three Easter trophies worth sh15 million to Soroti municipality. Mukula also donated a set of uniform for the team that will win the Easter competition and 30 foot balls to be distributed to schools and the foot ball clubs in the municipality. Mukula made the pledge at a match in Soroti.

Elgon is top
ELGON Technical College Mbale lifted the National Uganda Technical Colleges (UTC) Athletics and football trophies at Kichwamba TC in Kabalore. The fifth edition of the national UTC games attracted four colleges with last year’s champions Lira TC failing to honour the event.
