UGANDA takes on archrivals Kenya in the final of the International Cricket Council (ICC) East Africa age group tournament today at Lugogo oval.

The boys U-15 local squad survived ejection after Tanzania beat Kenya by three wickets at Kyambogo.

All the three teams registered a win each after the preliminaries.

Uganda that lost to Kenya in the opening match thrashed Tanzania by 62 runs in the second match to notch a net run rate of 0.63 above Kenya (-0.29) and Tanzania (-0.39).

Tanzania’s defeat against Uganda (37 all out) cost them a place in the final despite their splendid show against Kenya.

Ronald Semanda will carry Uganda’s hopes of avenging the humiliation by Kenya in the opening match of the tournament.

The skilled Semanda, who claimed 5/13 against Tanzania, can glitter with the ball considering his line and length.

The bowling prowess of speed merchants Patrick Ochan, Geoffrey Nyero and Duncan Mugabe pose a threat to the Kenyans who are still nursing the defeat by Tanzania yesterday.

In the girls U-18, Kenya stormed the final after dramatically beating Uganda by a wicket. Kenya will take on Tanzania in the final at Kyambogo oval today.

The prize giving ceremony will be held at Mandela sports hotel.
