Mayor gives tips on AIDS
SOROTI — Mayor George Egunyu has said preferential treatment of HIV/AIDS cases would prolong the scourge. “Let us keep sectarianism from AIDS. If we start talking of religion, tribe, politics in matters of AIDS then the disease will stay longer,” Egunyu said at the launching of mid-eastern regional Police HIV/AIDS implementation committee at Eneku village on Tuesday.

TORORO — Thirty women from Mella sub-county and Malaba benefited from a two-day seminar organised by the Pentecostal Churches in Uganda held from May 9-11 at the Ofinya Cultural Centre. They discussed HIV/AIDS, nutrition, good farming methods, the disadvantages of smuggling and how to run businesses. Mrs. Raili Leino Malema, the churches coordinator, said senior members of her congregation recommended the seminar.
