Kasenene did not sin!

SIR— The advice of our religious leaders should be respected, but it should not be taken as gospel truth, especially if it is not about religion but on secular matters.

SIR— The advice of our religious leaders should be respected, but it should not be taken as gospel truth, especially if it is not about religion but on secular matters. Our church leaders, like all other people, have political inclinations. What was taken as the official stand of the Church on the two-term limit is in fact the official stand of our religious leaders, but not the entire Church. I am a devout Catholic; but I have never seen or heard any of our church leaders seeking people’s views on this matter. Democratically, they should have consulted the grassroots to know their position, since their followers come from all political shades. I do not see any sin by a devoted Catholic wanting a limitless presidential term. Our church leaders have no term limit to their service yet they perform well even when very old and are always accorded due respect.
I do not see anything wrong if Prof Kasenene has a slightly different view from theirs, and I do not see any grounds where he should be asked to resign.
