KAMPALA Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) men’s team will visit Kenya this weekend to engage regional heavyweights Nzoia in the Nzoia Volleyball Open.

KAVC captain, Pierre Kamugasha, whose side has been outmaneuvered by the Kenyans in their previous meetings, is determined to get his revenge before the forthcoming KAVC Founders Memorial Invitational volleyball tournament later next week.

Kamugasha is confident that victory over Nzoia, the defending champions of both the Nzoia Cup and the KAVC memorial, will augur well for KAVC’s chances of triumphing in both tournaments that take place on successive weekends.

KAVC, who hold the Nkumba Open and Old Kampala Deaf Cup, will however have to negotiate past Kakamega Prisons, the winners of the recently-concluded Aporu Memorial tournament, if their ambitions of beating Kenyans in their backyard are to be realised.

Meanwhile, preparations for hosting the 7th edition of the KAVC memorial tournament are underway and three different venues have been confirmed for the preliminaries of July 12.
