THE Government is to pay over sh260b in pensions to former civil servants, Henry Muganwa Kajura the minister of public service said on Friday.
Kajura said the Government would have dialogue with MPs on their recent 15-year pension proposal.
He was speaking to journalists during celebrations to mark the Africa Day of Administration and Civil Service held at the International Conference Centre in Kampala.
“We are trying our best. People should not get so desperate. Arrangements are being made with the ministry of finance to release the funds as soon as possible so that we can effect the payments,†Kajura, also the third deputy Premier said.Ends
