THE Wildlife Clubs of Uganda (WCU) is to reward outstanding achievements in environmental conservation later this year, Joel Musasizi, WCU project officer, has said.
THE Wildlife Clubs of Uganda (WCU) is to reward outstanding achievements in environmental conservation later this year, Joel Musasizi, WCU project officer, has said.
Gerald Tenywa reports that Musasizi said previous winners of the award given in memory of Elly Tibakanya include The New Vision, Gayaza High School and Samson Werikhe, Coordinator of WCU.
He said Tibakanya was the General Secretary of the Clubs who died while on duty and the Clubs appreciate his contribution to conservation by giving the biannual award. Prof Eric Edroma and Ken Lukyamuzi were among the founders of the NGO in the mid 70s to create awareness in schools about the wise use of nature.
