MPs should censure Public Service

SIR— The way the Ministry of Public Service worked out salary revisions for 2003/2004

SIR— The way the Ministry of Public Service worked out salary revisions for 2003/2004,
as seen from pay-sheets
of September, for all ministries was haphazard.

While some workers had their salaries revised upwards, others didn’t get any revision. Whereas the lucky few were paid arrears of up to sh1m, the unlucky ones were paid sh400 to sh800 only! Others were paid nil and settled for old salaries.

Although we didn’t expect a uniform revision across the board, we hoped that every worker would get a revision
of salary upward of some kind.

Excuses like “job evaluation”
do not mean some workers
will do the job alone.
This is simply another time
the ministry has failed
to deliver.

We don’t want to talk of how the aged pensioners are made to walk to the Ministry of Public Service offices time
and again without payments, old as they are!

Dear Members of Parliament, please look into the inefficiency of this ministry, and censure the minister for the good
of our country.
