NATIONAL champion Charlie Lubega has entered next weekend’s Castrol-Mogas Independence rally in which he will be fighting to retain his national title.

Triple champion Lubega (460 points) sealed his previous titles with some events to spare but this time, the dominant driver has a big battle on his hands in the season-ender having been pushed by leader Moses Lumala (505 points) all the way.

Lubega, (Mitsubishi Evo4) coming off a Pearl of Africa Uganda rally victory, will be out for another win and hope that Lumala does not finish less than three positions behind him.

Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) driver W.O1 Ismail Lule also joined the race yesterday. Dolly Mubarak, Fred Kizito, Issa Numba, Richard Guma and Ben Koyesiga entered the rally earlier on.
