DEPUTY Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has called on more women politicians to bid for the Pan-African (AU) Parliament

DEPUTY Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has called on more women politicians to bid for the Pan-African (AU) Parliament, reports Cyprian Musoke.

She said this will help them beat their male counterparts and take the women emancipation cause to a higher level.

Addressing a high-power delegation of Kenyan women ministers and Mps in her boardroom recently, Kadaga urged all women to stick together in their political tribulations. Former ethics and integrity minister Miria Matembe and Apac MP Betty Amongi, are some of the women who have already expressed interest in the parliament that requires five members from each country.

Others are Bugweri MP Abdu Katuntu, and Mike Ssebalu of Busiro East. Kadaga said despite a provision that spelt out the number of women each country had to send to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), some countries wanted to rig out the women.
