MOSES Kibet started the cross country season by finishing fourth in the Netherlands on Friday.

Norman Katende reports that the Standard Club athlete, in Europe courtesy of his Netherlands-based managers Global Sports, failed to clinch third place because of a poor final kick. He was overtaken by Moroccan Hassan Belkhanouch in the tense run for the third position. They both finished after 24 minutes and 16 seconds.

Kibet, who finished 10th in last year’s World Junior Championships in Bydgosczc competed against World Junior Cross-country bronze medalist Lucas Rotich, who won the race.
