It was a terrific experience. I didn’t notice her arrival because I was busy with my phone. All of a sudden, I saw a pretty lady standing before me; I quickly stood up and pulled a seat for her. After exchanging pleasantries, we embarked on discussions, ranging from social life, academics to entertainment. She was up to date on at least every topic we discussed. She was confident.

Although I was initially nervous, her smile calmed me down. I discovered we have a lot in common in terms of our background; she is the only girl and a second-born, while I am the only boy and second-born. She was frank enough to tell me she has a boyfriend. She told me she would like her husband to be caring, loving, God-fearing, and slightly taller than her and of average size. I also told her my ideal wife is beautiful, caring, loving, understanding, God-fearing and slightly shorter than me.

What is with the height? You both say a man should be taller than a woman. In African tradition, a woman should be subordinate to the man, who is the head. It looks awkward when you have a wife who is taller than you. It is hard to command the respect you deserve.

And why is it important to have a God-fearing spouse? The fact that somebody fears God means they will be respectful and disciplined. They will not engage in things like immorality.

When did you last call her and what did you tell her? That night, and I thanked her for turning up and for her company.

Did you agree to meet again? No, but we exchanged contacts.

The guy wasn’t bad. We discussed our interests and when he asked whether I would participate in Big Brother, I told him I would, except that I hate the “Shower Hour” which borders on immorality. We talked about our favourite radio presenters, soaps and reality shows. When he asked who I would choose between a rich, uncaring man and a broke but loving man, I said I would go for a broke man who has time for me. I hear some girls say: ‘I rather cry in a limousine than laugh on a bicycle’ but that is wrong. Since you were not there when that man got his money, he will treat you like his property. He said: “You’re the first girl I’ve heard reasoning that way.” I told him I would want to have three or four children.

What if your husband wants more than four?
I’ll have no problem with that on condition that he’s capable of taking care of them.

As a campuser, what do you say about sugar-daddies? If you date somebody’s husband, yours might also become a sugar-daddy in future. What goes around comes around; if you don’t get infected, you’ll get affected.

What do you make of William?
He’s a gentleman in his expressions and the way he is organised.

Do you think the woman who’ll get him will be lucky? Yes. I asked him if he would marry more than one woman and he said there is no need because what one woman will give him is what others would give.
