The congregation at Kampala Pentecostal Church (KPC) were shocked on Sunday when it was announced during service that Mark Kigozi, the district pastor of KPC East had been temporarily relieved of his duties in the church.

Pastor Gary Skinner told the congregation at KPC (a message which echoed at all the KPC branches and in all Sunday services) that Kigozi had been suspended because he had failed to strike a balance between his role as a husband, his pastoral duties and family. He said the suspension was in effect until the team leader (Skinner) saw it fit to reinstate Kigozi.

Skinner, however, emphasised that Kigozi’s failings were not moral.

Believers in the church say the suspension came as a shock since Kigozi is one of the popular pastors at KPC.
