ABOUT 130 primary school teachers have been dismissed for having fake academic documents. The district chairman, Elijah Kagoda, said the district recently carried out a validation exercise in which they found out that 45 teachers had not gone to any teachers’ training institution but had fake teaching certificates.

They also discovered that 86 teachers had failed some papers and did not re-do them. Kagoda said the cases have been handed over to the Police to investigate and charge the culprits with impersonation and forgery.

He added that the district has advertised for 200 primary school teachers. Kagoda was addressing parents and residents of Igongerya village in Namutumba district.
