Lands staff released
- KAMPALA
The three officials in the lands ministry implicated in land fraud have been released on Police bond. Ambrose Olikiliza, the senior registrar of titles, Jane Frances Kasirye and Augustine Nsubuga, both senior records officials, were recently interrogated by Edward Bwanika an investigating officer with the Police land titles fraud unit at the Central Police Station.They allegedly transferred land illegally.

School heads for demotion
- BUSHENYI
The district education officer, Norman Lukumu, has warned primary school head teachers in the district that they risk being demoted unless they improve the performance of their pupils in the final exams this year. Lukumu was recently addressing over 300 head teachers during a meeting at the district multipurpose hall.

Bugiri gets motorcycles
- BUGIRI
The Government has given 42 motorcycles to to support the district livelihood support programme. The chief administrative officer, Luke Lokuda Lokwi, while handing over the motorcycles at the district headquarters recently cautioned staff against misusing the motorcycles. The LC5 chairman, Siraji Lyavala, said the motocycles worth sh300m, would also facilitate supervision of Government projects.

Rotary club aids families
- MBARARA
The Rotary Club of Rwampara recently donated 12 cows, farming tools, acaricides and bicycles worth sh37m to 12 families of Nshenyi village, Ruborogota sub-county in Isingiro district. The club president, George William Kwishima, while handing over the items, urged the recipients to indulge in income generating activities. The LC5 boss, Ignatius Byaruhanga, thanked the club.
