The state minister for people with disabilities, Suleiman Madada, has advised communities stop neglecting the elderly.

Madada said the younger generations had not changed its negative attitude towards the elderly who, he said, are always considered to be witches especially after a crime has been committed.

Madada was in Busia district on a community-based rehabilitation and monitoring tour.

In a meeting with the minister at the Busia Town Council gardens on Wednesday, representatives of the elderly requested for faster processing of their pension.
