<b>NAADS buys 264 goats</b> <br>ARUA-The National Agricultural Advisory Services has procured 264 local goats for farmers in Offaka sub-county. The district veterinary officer, Dr. Gordon Toa, said the goats would enhance the productivity of farmers.

ARUA-The National Agricultural Advisory Services has procured 264 local goats for farmers in Offaka sub-county. The district veterinary officer, Dr. Gordon Toa, said the goats would enhance the productivity of farmers. “The project, being implemented under the Prosperity-for-All programme, targets six farmers per parish,” Toa said. He explained that 22 farmers had been selected to benefit from the project.

Media houses to be supported
GULU-The chief of the Northern Uganda Transition Initiative, Amanda Willett, has pledged to support the media in the north to enable it inform the population on issues regarding peace, recovery and development. Willet said the initiative, which is funded by the US agency USAID, would give small grants to strengthen the media association. She was addressing over 20 FM radio station managers and owners from Kitgum, Pader and Gulu districts at the Pearl Afrique Hotel in Gulu recently.

62- year-old held over theft
NEBBI-A 62-year-old watchman, Odaga Issa and his son Ukethi, were on Thursday charged with burglary and theft by the Paidha Grade Two Magistrate, George Kumakech. Court heard that the duo stole over sh4m belonging to Nebbi Town Savings and Credit Cooperative Society. The society’s loan officer, Willy Ochola, said the money was stolen on the night of January 27 after unknown people broke the rear door of the bank.

Residents urged on sanitation
NEBBI-Communities have been urged to maintain the water and sanitation facilities provided by the Government. The water officer, Vincent Openjuru, told the communities to repair the boreholes and taps. He was speaking at the commemoration of the World Water Day at BarOkoro playground in Paidha town recently.
