THE bishop of Lugazi Diocese, Matthias Sekamanya, has urged teachers in church-founded schools to get married in church in order to have disciplined children. Sekamanya was speaking during a service at St. Joseph Naggalama SSS to mark the school’s saints’ day recently.

“What the children see you doing is what they emulate. You should first have good families and lead by example so that the children also get motivated,” the bishop emphasised.

The vicar-general of the diocese, Dr. Richard Kayondo, also said harmony and reconciliation in homes was needed for development.

He expressed concern that African leaders were greedy, unfair and accumulated wealth, forcing Africa to lag behind in development.

The clergymen also asked the head mistress, Agnes Nsubuga, to ensure that the school builds safe and strong buildings, like those built by missionaries, to keep students safe.

Kayondo urged teachers to also equip students with skills to enable them to become job creators after school.

Students who did not excel academically, could prosper in other professions, he argued.
