Simba secure victory in league
- SIMBA Union put on an impressive display to beat Wanainchi 3-2 in the national hockey league at Lugogo, Saturday. Simba players displayed a tactical game and Joshua Gumisiriza put them ahead while Bwire Wandera and Jackson Rorat added the other goals. Wanainchi fought gallantly but their players including new recruit Thomas Opio, Joshua Opolot and Geoffrey Mandela were overshadowed. In the other game, Rocket beat Kampala Club 2-0.

Zziwa in Africa bansteen show
- Uganda and Africa number two draught player Frank Zziwa will represent the country at the 10th edition of the international Barnsteen tournament due April 25-May 2 in the Netherlands. “It is an honour to represent the country at the event and I hope to do well,” Zziwa said. Zziwa will be the second African at the tournament along with Jean Marc Njofang of Cameroon.

Woodball circuit due in Entebbe
- Uganda Woodball Federation (UWdF) will hold the inaugural beach woodball circuit on May 3 at the Entebbe Lido Beach. UWbF secretary Godwin Senyondo said that in a bid to popularise the sport, the Lido event will also be open to non-club members. The competition is part of the build up for the Africa University meet due in Kampala in August. Crown Beverages Limited are the tournament sponsors.
