BOWLER Ahmed Sangua provided evidence of his potential by plundering a remarkable 4-9 to help Uganda defeat Zambia by four wickets yesterday. The result put the national under-19 team’s plans of qualifying for the World Cup back on track.

BOWLER Ahmed Sangua provided evidence of his potential by plundering a remarkable 4-9 to help Uganda defeat Zambia by four wickets yesterday. The result put the national under-19 team’s plans of qualifying for the World Cup back on track.
Uganda went into the match against the ICC Under-19 World Cup Qualifier hosts after a close defeat to Namibia the previous day. Sangua ensured there would be no repeat of defeat with a wicket-taking spell that restricted Zambia to 103 in 43 overs.
Captain Ahmed Yakoub then top-scored with 30 before Emmanuel Nakaana’s 27 n/o saw Uganda complete the chase with seven overs to spare.
They take a rest today before playing Botswana tomorrow. Uganda have won three of four matches.
