Two people who were allegedly part of a mob that lynched the Kawolo sub-county chief, Bwete Senfuma, to death were on Monday charged with murder. Senfuma was suspected to have kidnapped a nine-year-old boy, Timothy Suuna, for a ritual sacrifice.

Suuna’s mother, Agnes Nalumu, a resident of Busabaga village and Godfrey Kalyango, a carpenter in Nakibole village along with others on the run allegedly committed the offence on April 14.

“Inquiries in this matter are ongoing. I advise you to say nothing because you are charged with a capital offence only tried by the High Court,” the Mukono Grade Two magistrate, Charles Kadiisi, said.

He remanded the accused to Kauga Prison until June 2 when the case comes up for mention.
