EDITOR—I am frustrated by the incompetence of some Makerere University staff in the Academic Registrar’s office especially the officials responsible for processing identity cards. I have spent the last three months struggling to raise money to pay my fees only to be told that I cannot be registered.

One would think they are doing me a favour! I walked between Level 1 and Level 6 in Senate Building countless times to talk to arrogant staff who don’t seem to know why they are paid for! I could not be given my identity card because the official concerned wanted to see a document that he himself acknowledges is on the computer.

He needs to see it physically! I walked to the public relations office to complain but the public relations officer was not around. Who then do I turn to to solve my problem? Somebody should save us from these small gods. They are so insensitive!
