Musali spurs Wanderers in league

DENNIS Musali’s unbeaten 84 saw Wanderers beat Tornado B by eight wickets in the Castle Lager cricket<br>league at Lugogo yesterday. In Kyambogo, Akbar Baig’s display saw Tornado defeat KICC by seven wickets.

DENNIS Musali’s unbeaten 84 saw Wanderers beat Tornado B by eight wickets in the Castle Lager cricket
league at Lugogo yesterday.

In Kyambogo, Akbar Baig’s display saw Tornado defeat KICC by seven wickets. Tornado B elected to bat with Solomon Seruga making a quick 40 off 31 balls in the Lugogo tie.

Seruga’s colleague Fred Isabirye put on 36 while Cyrus KibuukaMusoke had 35.
But the team could not stand the bowling of Wanderers’ Deus Muhumuza and Peter Tusiime who picked 3 wickets each for 24 and 40 respectively.

Tornado B were eventually bowled out for 166. In reply, Wanderers lost the wickets of Abubaker Seguya (03) and Sam Osekenyi (00) in the first three overs.

However, Musali and Daniel Batuwa rescued Wanderers unbeaten with 84 and 61 respectively as the team raced to victory. At Kyambogo, KICC batted first putting on 146 before Tornado hit 149 to claim victory.

  • A national team select side captained by Davis Arinaitwe beat the Invitation X1 led by Ahmed Yakoub by 4 runs in a friendly match held at Lugogo on Friday. Arinaitwe’s team batted first putting on 137 but the Invitation team later made a futile chase.
