SHELL, Total and MOGAS have entered into a partnership with ZAIN to enable clients use the ZAP service, writes Vision Reporter.

ZAP enables Zain subscribers to use their phones to transfer money, pay bills, top up airtime and buy goods and services.

“They will be able to buy fuel, purchase goods in the fuel stations’ shops and even get their vehicles serviced using ZAP. There is no need for people to carry large sums of money. All they need is their mobile phones,” Angela Kenyonza Zain’s M-Commerce manager explained.

A password is needed for each transaction. The service is protected by a modern security system. This means added security for fuel stations, which face the ever-present danger of armed robbery.

Customers also benefit from being able to access the service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The service was launched at the beginning of last week and has been well received by the public.
