KAMPALA - Former economic monitoring state minister Morris Kagimu Kiwanuka has been lauded for his role in streamlining urban market ownership.

Kagimu has been instrumental in resolving ownership and re-development wrangles in markets like St. Balikudembe and Nakasero in Kampala.

“When he requested for money to go to Burundi and study the market system there, I wondered how it would benefit us.

However, it is because of his ideas that we are seeing improvement in urban market administration,” said Tecla Kinalwa, the secretary, Office of the President.

Kinalwa was bidding farewell to Kagimu on Thursday at the Cabinet library. Kagimu is now ambassador to Switzerland, where he reported on Sunday.
