SELECTED secondary schools across the country are to get furniture, the education ministry has said. The furniture shall be used in setting up the schools’ guidance and counselling rooms, it added.

According to Francis Lubanga, the permanent secretary, the ministry shall use part of a grant it received from the African Development Bank to fund post-primary education and training for the project.

However, the furniture will only be extended to the bank’s Education III project beneficiary schools in selected districts.

Lubanga said the ministry would contract private firms to provide the furniture.

Bidding will conducted in accordance with the open domestic bidding procedures.
