I am upset about appointment letters

EDITOR—I am disappointed with the Ministry of Education over the issue of appointment letters. It takes a long time before a teacher can receive his or her appointment letter.

EDITOR—I am disappointed with the Ministry of Education over the issue of appointment letters. It takes a long time before a teacher can receive his or her appointment letter.

I received mine recently after 10 years and applying for it six times! These appointment letters are issued with many errors—misspelt names, wrong dates, wrong addresses, wrong salary scales, etc.

The ministry normally advises the affected teachers to hand in their originals for correction.

But when you hand in the original you are later told it is lost! I sensed the gravity of the matter on another occasion when I went back to the ministry and found several teachers with the same problem waiting for the commissioner in charge of personnel who never showed up! This cannot be a coincidence.

I don’t want to believe the story circulating in the ministry that the appointment letters are adjusted and sold to some other desperate teachers!
