Red Cross donates books to High Court

THE International Committee of the Red Cross has donated books on international humanitarian law to the War Crimes Division of the High Court.

THE International Committee of the Red Cross has donated books on international humanitarian law to the War Crimes Division of the High Court, writes Hillary Nsambu.

The Red Cross head of delegation in Uganda, Jurg Eglin, handed over the books to the War Crimes Division registrar, Lawrence Tweyanze, on Friday at the committee’s head office in Kololo, Kampala.

The War Crimes Division, which was established in 2008, will handle cases of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. The division, headed by Justice Dan Akiiki-Kiiza, is expected to start as soon as it acquires its own home.
