So I asked if he was my date and he said he was and we started chatting. We are both studying and working.
I asked if he understood Luganda. He said he did not but was planning to learn it. I told him he could not learn it because of his age.
I asked what his religion was because he said he does not take alcohol. He said he is a Catholic. He also asked if I had a boyfriend and if I like to visit and to be visited. I told him I hate visits but I like hanging out with friends.
Were you impressed by anything about him?
He seems to be a kind person.
Did he disappoint you anywhere? He left me to do everything on my own. He did not even pour my drink.
Have you communicated yet? Unfortunately, we did not exchange contacts that evening.

I was excited at the opportunity of making a new friend. I was imagining how old she would be and preparing how to handle her. My strategy was to establish her interests so that I would know how to treat her.
When I arrived, I saw two ladies seated alone at separate tables and I was worried that the older one might turn out to be my date. I was later relieved when I was shown the table of the younger one.
I apologised for being late but she said it was okay since she had been there for less than 10 minutes. I asked about her likes and dislikes and she told me: “I like hanging out but I don’t like lies.†I told her I do not like lies also because when somebody discovers it, you will look foolish.
She asked if I live alone and I told her I live with my brother. I had a great time, since it was the first time I had been on a date with a stranger.
No love discussed?
It was not the right time to do it.
