MBARARA — The Police have arrested a 21-year-old student accused of hacking his uncle to death.

MBARARA — The Police have arrested a 21-year-old student accused of hacking his uncle to death.

The acting district Police commander, Paul Sonikwo, identified the suspect as John Muhumuza, a resident of Rutooma cell in Rwanyamahembe sub-county.

Muhumuza, a student at Rwampara agricultural institute in Mbarara, on November 20, allegedly attacked his uncle, Stanley Muganga, 38, who had gone to visit the family. Muganga died on the way to Mbarara Hospital.

The Police said Muganga had opposed Muhumuza’s wish to become the heir of his late father, Edson Muhirwe. Erisa Barugahare, 19, an S.2 student of Rutooma Secondary School, was installed as the heir.
