EXPRESS have a chance of extending their Uganda Super Division league lead when they host Iganga TC at Wankulukuku today.

The Red Eagles will be fielding what coach David Otti described as not only an injury free side, but also a line-up rich in experience.

Veterans Phillip Obwiny and Hassan Mubiru are the pillars Otti’s otherwise young side will be banking on for guidance.

“It will be an all out attack,” warned Otti’s assistant Matia Lule yesterday.

Express, currently joint leaders with Bunamwaya, were before the three week break enjoying good form with consecutive wins over Fire Masters, Hoima and Maji.

But if history is anything to go by, then they could be headed for trouble. Express were forced to two draws by Iganga last season.

Meanwhile, Firemasters FC coach Richard Makumbi has withdrawn boycott threats following his team’s near brawl with Express. The Wakiso side travels to Namboole for a date with Police.

Firemasters officials had warned that they would not play unless FUFA punishes Express fans, who broke into Kavumba Recreation Centre during their 1-0 win last month.

At Nakivubo KCC FC coach Sam Ssimbwa, still recovering from Uganda’s victorious outing, plans to take a backbench as his boys take on Maji.

In yesterday’s matches, George Nsimbe started work at Victors FC with a goal-less away draw with Hoima. Hoima’s Musa Kayonda was red carded for rough play.

In Lira Boroboro and Nalubaale settled for a 1-all draw. Robert Lopida put the visitors ahead in 28th minute but Emmanuel Juma levelled matters five minutes to recess.

Masaka secured the day’s only win by beating Kinyara with goals from Yusuf Kinene and Ronald Lukungu.

Elsewhere, the match between CRO and SC Villa originally scheduled for tomorrow, has been put off due to the unavailability of Mbale Municipal Stadium.

In a related development the Villa-Kinyara match that was earlier postponed has been set for December 27 2009.
