OPPOSITION political party leaders have advised President Yoweri Museveni to support local investors the same way he was helping foreigners.
They also called for ‘a stringent sieve’ to check investors coming into the country.
The People’s Progressive Party chairman, Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, said whereas Museveni’s effort in persuading foreign investors to come to Uganda was commendable, the same privileges should be extended to local investors.
“This would encourage and boost indigenous investors,†he said.
The Democratic Party chief, John Ssebaana Kizito, in his New Year message said foreigners were offered free land and enjoyed tax waivers.
