CORNELIUS Kuteesa of Seroma Christian High School in Mukono collapsed on hearing the news of his excellent performance in last year’s A‘level exams.

The 20-year-old boy, who scored 25 points (AAAA4) in History, Economics, Geography and Divinity, said he was overwhelmed.
“I knew I would pass, but not highly,” Kuteesa said, as tears of joy rolled down his cheeks yesterday.

Kuteesa, who wants to pursue law, is a son to Rose and the late Joseph Musoke of Mukono town.
He attributed his success to hard work. Kuteesa said people who mocked him and his mother also made him determined to succeed.

“After my O’level, I had no school fees to join Senior Five. People laughed at my mother,” he said. “It is these mockers that I worked hard to disprove.”

His mother said Kuteesa’s excellent performance was evidence that her dream of having a degree holder in the family was getting closer.

She commended the school’s administration for giving Kuteesa a half-bursary, saying without it, he would have stopped in O’level.
