GOLF - Uganda Professional Golfers Association captain Deo Akope is eager to turn around his dismal start to the campaign in the MTN February Mug that tees off this morning at Uganda Golf Club. The professionals’ event precedes the amateur monthly mug that tees off tomorrow at the same venue. At the end of each quarter, players share sh3m depending on the points they have accumulated over three months.

Tag rugby today

RUGBY - DMS International has injected sh2.5 in the tag rugby tournament that kicks off today at Kyadondo starting at 9am. Four primary schools will battle for the accolade that was lifted by Mbuya Army Primary School after beating Kisowera in the final last year. Green Hill Academy, Shimoni Demonstration School, Police Children School and East Kololo PS will compete in the tournament that ends at 1pm. The event is meant to create awareness of the sport among young children.

Ace Kurji makes rally comeback

RALLYING - Ace Riyaz Kurji will have to reapply for a Ugandan license so that he contests for national titles again after three years competing on the Kenyan circuit. Kurji abandoned racing in Uganda citing lack of competition. He must be cleared by the Kenyan motorsport federation and apply for a local license if he is to earn points in the national championship.
