MBARARA - A pregnant woman and her husband were last Saturday found dead in their bedroom in Kashuro village, Ndeija sub-county in Mbarara district.
The Police suspect that their death could have resulted from domestic violence.
The south-western regional Police spokesperson, Polly Namaye, said Lillian Nyakato and Steven Atwijukire’s bodies were found with multiple cuts and Atwijukire had his neck tied with a mosquito net.
The bodies were discovered by a resident who had taken shelter from the rain at the verandah of the deceased.
MP warns on gossiping
KAPCHORWA - The people of Kapchorwa have been warned against rumour-mongering. The area MP and also privatisation minister, Rukia Chekamondo, said rumour-mongering breaks people’s families. The minister who was last Sunday speaking at a funeral of her aunt in Tongwo village, Kapteret Parish said the family is an important unit of social development and therefore must be protected through prayer.
District Khadi Shiekh Ali Musa Musobo warned the women against indecent dressing.
