KCC FC has raised the bar on both the domestic and continental fronts this season. The league champions are not only in a decent position of defending their title, but are East Africa’s sole representatives on the continent.
In Brian Umony, KCC also pride themselves of perhaps the best finisher on the African continent. The youthful forward has scored against each of his club’s continental opponents (Ferroviarrio de Maputo, SuperSport United, El Merriekh and Bayelsa United).
However, all this could come to nothing if KCC fail to negotiate their way in four upcoming fixtures (Express, Nalubaale, URA and Bayelsa) in the space of 13 days.
The first of the four ‘final’ assignments comes today against a rejuvenated Express side at Wankulukuku.
“Every game now is a final for us. We will need our top players to perform more than ever before,†KCC coach George Nsimbe stated.
Clashes between the two traditional giants have never been short on nerve and drama, and this fixture should prove no exception.
The beauty for KCC is the Lugogo side will confront their arch rivals in fine spirits after resolving their in-house player-executive wrangles.
