GOLDSTAR Insurance Company has paid $85,000 (sh150.4m) to the Sheraton Kampala Hotel as compensation for the theft of the hotel’s construction materials from a warehouse in Bugolobi, writes Charles Bwogi.

“The hotel lost construction materials meant for its refurbishing, but because they had taken a Contractor All Risks Policy, we are compensating them,” Solomon Rubondo, the general manager of Goldstar, said.

Ruben Almeida, the finance director of Sheraton, said the items were stolen in 2006. The claim was negotiated by AON.
