STATE Minister for Higher Education, Gabriel Opio and Samia Bugwe North MP Stephen Wasike Mugeni, have reconciled and agreed to work together to develop Busia district.
The district NRM chairman, Barasa Ogajo, chaired the reconciliatory meeting held on Saturday at Opio’s home in Buhehe sub-county in Samia Bugwe South.
Opio and Mugeni’s relationship soured over the allocation of a seed secondary school that both wanted in their respective constituencies.
Mugeni wanted the school to be located in Busitema sub-county, saying it was the only sub-county in the district that lacked a Government-aided secondary school but the school was built in Busiime, Lunyo sub-county. Mugeni then accused Opio of using his influence to have the school in Busiime.
