WATCHING football sometimes comes with tension, especially when your team is losing, but the Great Four (G4), an association that unites English premiership fans, is giving football a new look.

During their second party at Ange Noir on Saturday, the fans who turned up to watch the rivals, Arsenal and Manchester United, had a treat of football blended with music.

The party, organised by the Great Four, attracted fans of different soccer clubs. The usual tension was eased by the jiggling and hissing of the Maisha dancers.

The fans forgot that ManU was leading, as they watched the dancers gyrating and doing all sort of acrobatics during the 15-minute interval. They clapped and screamed at every dance stroke.

Most of the fans preferred not to wear their team jerseys, and by the end of the two-all draw match, they were all up dancing with Grace Nakalema of the Ani Akumanyi fame.

The group’s chairman, Dennis Mbidde, said the trend will remain the same for all big matches involving two of the Great Four clubs namely Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.

“We want to give football a new look both at the local and international level. We know football and music blend well and that is why we are involving musicians,” Mbidde said.
