THE Stability, Peace and Reconciliation in Northern Uganda project has donated 10 motorcycles to its partners in the region. The motorcycles, valued at sh80m, are meant to boost increased food production and fight food insecurity in the north.

The donation was handed over to members of the Apac and Lira district farmers associations, the North East Chilly Producers Association, CPAR Uganda and Kica Ber Support War Victims on on Tuesday.

The project’s chief of party, Paul Delucco, said the motorcycles, bought with funding from USAID, would be used by extension workers to encourage the people to grow crops.

Presiding over the handover, Gulu resident district commissioner Col. Walter Ochora asked the extension workers to involve the communities in deciding what they should grow.
