SAMSON Mukisa, the 19-year-old boy who swore an affidavit accusing Pastor Robert Kayanja of sodomising him has been granted Police protection as investigations into the case continue.

Mukisa asked for protection on Thursday during a meeting between the Police chief, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura, and the Pentecostal pastors involved in the sodomy saga.

“I left him in the hands of the Police as it arranged for his safe custody,” said Andrew Kasirye, Mukisa’s lawyer.

Thursday’s two hour closed meeting was attended by Pastors Robert Kayanja, Solomon Male, Robert Kayiira, Martin Ssempa and their lawyers. Two of the young men who had earlier sworn affidavits accusing Kayanja of sexually molesting them, Samson Mukisa and Robson Matovu, also attended the meeting that was filmed.

Although Kasirye and the pastors declined to divulge the details of the meeting, sources described it as dramatic.

Matovu and Samson are said to have turned the guns on their so-called helpers. Like he did on Wednesday, Matovu reportedly told the meeting that he was given sh160,000 by Pastor Michael Kyazze of Omega Healing Centre to claim that he was sodomised by pastor Kayanja.

Kyazze is currently out of the country. He is expected back on Tuesday.
Mukisa is said to have confessed that the pastors bribed him to malign Kayanja and to claim that he was put under gunpoint and asked to retract his affidavit.

Sources told Saturday Vision that Mukisa also reportedly admitted that Olivia Nansubuga is his mother. If true, this creates a dent in the sodomy accusations because earlier, Mukisa claimed he was an orphan.

When contacted, Male said: “Police said they would summon us when they need us. The main problem is that each time they summon us, there is media presence.”

Male added, “A public inquiry, independent of the Police, should be conducted into sodomy in all sectors of the country. It should look into schools, churches, the community and prisons.”
