JENSON Chestit was named Nkumba Volleyball Open Most Valuable Player, though his efforts could not help his club retain the men’s title.

Chestit helped former champions Nkumba University reach the semifinals of the three-day event which ended with KCC winning the title.

KCC beat Sports-S 2-1 to lift the trophy at the university campus on Sunday.

KCC had featured in two previous tournaments without a win, but the league champions got their act right this time round.

They outwitted the Sport-S, team that beat them to the Aporu Okoru Memorial title early this month.

Prossy Alobo, also from Nkumba, is the woman MVP after leading her club to a 3-1 win over KAVC in the final of the event sponsored by Crown Beverages, Capital Radio and Nkumba University.
