Police disarm commander
KABALE-District Police commander Gasper Obingu Onzi has disarmed the local defence commander Robert Matsiko over allegations that he wanted to shoot Swaibu Mikidadi, a resident. The Police was told that during a quarrel with Mikidadi recently, Matsiko, who was drunk, picked up his gun and cocked it to shoot him. However, other security guards stopped him.

Power line commissioned
NTUNGAMO-A new power line for Ntungamo, Kikagate, Kyamate, Ruhaama and Kitwe has been commissioned. The managing director of the contractors, YOT KOM engineering company, Eng. Samuel Mugume, recently handed over the line to UMEME and the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited at Kyamate Hill. The sh5b line was connected to that of Mbarara-Kabale at Kyamate Hill.

Students buy 11 computers
NTUNGAMO-Kiyora Primary Teachers’ College has bought 11 computers using funds contributed by students. The principal, Richard Nuwamanya, said the computers would improve information technology at the school. This brings the number of computers at the college to 22. Last year, the First Lady, Janet Museveni and her friends in the US donated 11 computers to the institute.
