The trial of Kampala tycoon Godfrey Kato Kajubi over a ritual murder resumes today in Masaka.

A witchdoctor, who says he was contracted by Kajubi to sacrifice the boy, will continue with his testimony as a State witness.

Kajubi is on trial for murder of the 12-year-old Joseph Kasirye whose body was found without the head in a suspected ritual sacrifice.

Masaka High Court, presided over by Justice Moses Mukiibi, on Friday adjourned the trial to August 17

In the first part of his testimony, the witchdoctor, Umar Kateregga, narrated to the court how he befriended Kajubi who revealed to him that he (Kajubi) had spirits that used to help him to acquire wealth such as buildings and vehicles.

“He told me that his spirits (misambwa) are in Kooki, at Kaziru landing site in Masaka and in Bunyoro,” Kateregga told court.

“Those who enjoy ‘Kinigeria’ (Nigerian) movies should come early on Monday 17 for the second part of this story,” Justice Mukiibi said as he adjourned the case.

Kajubi had been charged jointly with Kateregga and his wife, Mariam Nabukeera, for the murder.

But the charges against Kateregga and his wife were later dropped. The State is now using the couple as witnesses against Kajubi.
